Performance Picks — Arensky’s Quartet in A Minor for Violin, Viola, and Two Cellos, Op. 35 (1894)

This week’s Performance Pick is our second concert on Wednesday, July 29—our 6 p.m. concert, which features Alan Gilbert, one of the world’s leading conductors and chamber musicians. Alan Gilbert plays violin in a gorgeous string quartet by the late-19th-century Russian composer Anton Arensky, who, at the time, was mourning the death of Tchaikovsky.
